Chilling Adventures of Sabrina- A sleuth drama following the adventures of the Sabrina Spellman who first appears as a typical teenage girl, but has a riveting side hustle as a half-witch! It is the live-action adaptation of the beloved kid’s cartoon show and it is worth the hype it gets! Sabrina, a half-witch lives with two of her witch aunts and warlock cousin, and she must find a fine balance between her human and supernatural life as she turns 16. A fun teen comedy that is fantastical and thrilling, this is a fun show for your teen as they tune in to find whether Sabrina chooses to sign her name in the Book of the Beast to the Dark Lord or not. Created by the showrunner of Riverdale, another cult-favorite teen drama, Sabrina and the Teenage Witchcrafts an optimum amount of horror and sassy teen wit to keep your teen hooked!
Boys Over Flowers- It’s official, K-drama has taken all over Netflix and your teen’s social media! K-drama and K-pop have had an impressive cultural impact on young teens all over the world. Boys Over Flowers is one such K-drama that is a beloved teen show all over the world. The iconic series revolves around the tribulations of a working-class high schooler, Geum Jan di whose life transforms as she gets involved with a group of elite and snobbish wealthy male high school students known as F4. Jan di brings her spunk and individuality to the group and slowly sees the human side of this virulently guarded F4 underneath the arrogance and snobbery. Never Have I Ever- We’re sure you’ve heard of the blockbuster teen series Never Have I Ever created by our own Mindy Kaling. It centers around the lives of an Indian- American desi teen, trying to make sense of hormones, high school, and her cultural ties with her home country and her Indian roots. The series’ protagonist Devi’s life drastically changes after the death of her father, and is determined to cast a positive spin on her life by getting an all-American high-school experience- a boyfriend, parties, and popularity! A gifted student she also wants to destroy her rival but tries to achieve all these things in ways that get messy in the end. Never Have I Ever, will keep you hooked, riveted, and is also unexpectedly emotional and will leave you in tears in parts, but ultimately it will keep you hooked to Devi’s journey of becoming the IT girl of her school!
Derry Girls- Now this is a rare find! Derry Girls is a rip-roaringly fun series that follows the lives of Catholic Schoolgirls in Northern Ireland as they go through teenagehood against the backdrop of a politically volatile Ireland. This charming sitcom is centered around a group of friends,- the passionate Erin, the rebellious Michelle, the weird Orla, the good girl Clare and Michelle’s cousin James who is the only male student and Brit at the Catholic school. This mix of friends is something your teen will relate to, as they all have friends like these in school.
