Hacks for Travelling With Kids

There’s travelling, and then there is travelling with kids – which are two wildly different experiences!

It’s said that there’s no education like travelling, because it widens children’s perspective and understanding and is the most fun way to learn. The memories you make on family trips are very precious, and the experience is irreplaceable. However, travelling with children can get stressful.

Here are a few travel hacks for travelling with kids:

Headphones and Headphone Splitter

Podcasts and audiobooks are an excellent way to pass time while on the road, or on a flight. They keep kids engaged and entertained, and are also educational. Make sure that you pack a pair of comfortable headphones, like this one from Zebronics, for kids so you can pull out a podcast anywhere, anytime. A headphone splitter is also a great idea, if you have more than one child.

Snack Time

Snacks are an absolute essential while travelling with kids! Make sure that you plan ahead, and pack snacks in huge quantities! Kids are likely to throw tantrums on long journeys, and snacks are a sure way to lure them out of those. If you’re concerned about too much processed food, you can always opt for healthier food options made specifically for kids, like Slurrp Farms’ Mighty Puffs  and Timios’ packaged snacks. And if you prefer home-cooked food, you can always do that in cute bento-style boxes

Travel Activities

Be sure to stock up on kiddie travel activities! No amount is too much when it comes to options to keep kids entertained, because they have a short attention span. So whether it’s colour pencils, sketchpens, an arsenal of travel games like Atlas and Memory, or other card and board games like Hamley’s travel chess set make sure you’ve stocked up!

Extra Clothes

When travelling with kids, extra clothes are always a good thing to pack for those unforeseen puddles! If you’re looking to reduce the volume of your baggage, you can always use something like Kurtzy’s reusable vacuum seal bags. These are a blessing for parents, because it allows you to prepare for worst-case messes with complete ease!

Prepare for naps

Whatever age your child is – whether a baby or a preteen, make sure to prepare for naps. For babies, a good carrier is a great addition to your travel checklist, so they can sleep wherever, whenever! For older kids, a pillow that doubles up a stuff toy, like this cute dragon travel pillow is a must.
