Oh, to be a teen again! New experiences, new friends, raging hormones, new crushes- teens go through a lot! And to be a teenager during the pandemic- that is an experience. Young Adult books are great ways for your teens to escape to places where they feel more comfortable as they can relate with the characters in the book. Some new YA books these days are also self-help books or autobiographies that contain real-life lessons for your teens to overcome any battle that they are going through. Teenagers sometimes feel that they are singled out in this crazy adolescent adventure, but books have a way to relate to every teen as each of them has their unique interpretations. Young Adult books are a great tool that your teen can use in their confusing transition from childhood to teenagerhood as it reminds them that this universal experience can be tough and that it is okay to have your own unique take on it. It also switches between timelines and focuses on Cloud’s Rest Motel which was opened in the US by immigrants from Pakistan.
