Bring The Outdoors In 5 Indoor Activities For Monsoon

You know that feeling: it’s raining cats and dogs and you want to settle by a window with a cup of chai and a book. But the day has other plans for you, because the little ones are missing their outdoor play time and are going to bring the house down if you don’t come up with a plan very soon. When it rains, it pours. Finding activities to keep kids busy while stuck inside the house is quite a task, but we’ve got you covered! Try out these indoor activities for kids, to keep busy on rainy days:

1. Wall Makeover

Pick a wall in the house, and treat it as a blank canvas! Involving the kids, let your collective imagination run wild to give it a stunning makeover. This is a fun way to transform a space, and this activity will also keep the kids busy. Use Asian Paints’ wall stickers to make it more exciting for the kids.

2. Obstacle Course

Create an indoor obstacle race course in the living room. Get inventive with everyday objects, overturn a chair. Be sure to safety-proof everything to avoid any injuries. Check this out for ideas on creating obstacles. At the end of this activity, we guarantee that everyone will be ready for a long nap!

3. Indoor camping

This is good old-fashioned fun. It encourages children to be imaginative, creative, and innovative. For this you need nothing more than a bunch of old blankets and some chairs. Watch this video to see how it’s done.  Add pillows and a comfortable rug, and voila! You have a novel sleeping experience. Fun snacks and board games will add to the fun.

You can always do the traditional blanket fort, or go for an actual tent for the feels, which you can buy at Decathalon’s online store.

4. At-Home Drum Circle

For some high-energy fun, gather pots and pans from the kitchen, round the toddlers, and have a bucket load of fun with a drum circle. The budding musicians will love this, although you may nurse a headache after this activity. Watch this tutorial to know more about how to do this activity.

5. Photobooth

An at-home photobooth combines various activities to keep kids entertained. You can get the children to make DIY props, and dig through their wardrobe for costumes and accessories that will add to the fun. Find a corner in the house and set it up as a photobooth, and go crazy!  You can click photos with any phone camera. To make it more exciting, we recommend taking polaroids with Fujifilm’s Instax camera.
